Designed to meet the evolving demands of modern motorcycling safety, the innovative and ultra-lightweight Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA Airbag System is engineered to fit seamlessly under a jacket, delivering an “invisible under the jacket” feel. Its ultra-slim profile provides unrestricted movement while offering advanced upper-body protection for an enhanced riding experience.

Built upon Alpinestars’ industry-leading protective technology, the Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA is the latest evolution in the Tech-Air® family. Featuring a newly developed algorithm with three Riding Modes—STREET, OFF-ROAD, and RACE—the system provides comprehensive protection for the chest, ribs, back, and shoulders. It is a single-charge deployment system with a user-replaceable gas canister for continued protection ride after ride.

Activation Zip with Haptic Feedback

When the activation zip is fully closed, the system automatically powers on. A haptic vibration confirms the system is active and ready for use.

LED Display & Riding Modes

The Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA features three Riding Modes: STREET, OFF-ROAD, and RACE. Once activated, riders can switch modes by pressing the System Button for two seconds. A solid green LED indicates the currently active Riding Mode.

The LED button also allows users to check system status at any time. Pressing the button triggers a vibration to confirm the system is functioning correctly.

User Serviceable

The system operates with an all-new single canister, resulting in a low overall weight AND a faster inflation time, while simultaneously being easier and faster to service.

The quick release cover is attached to the chassis with a Velcro Hook and Loop patch for ease of use; simply insert a finger into the recess and lift the cover to detach it.

The ultra-thin, mono-layer stretch mesh chassis is engineered to follow the shape of the airbag, reducing the system’s overall material bulk for an ultra-light weight and superior breathability.
